Lectionary Poetry – Epiphany Week 5 (Year A)

Lectionary Poetry Advent

With the dawn of a new church year, we have launched a new feature on our website, a weekly post of poetry that resonates with the lectionary readings for that week (Revised Common Lectionary).

Lectionary Reading: I Cor. 2:1-16

Psalm (13)
SAID

Found in:
99 Psalms

lord
pray
pray aloud against the clamor of the human hand
that seeks to drown you out
and come on quiet soles
so that we might attend to your footsteps
strive
to acknowledge our prayers
even when they appear in some other guise
for no prayer ever unbinds itself from its origins
with the one who prays
