This week marked the 20th Anniversary of the death of Henri Nouwen (Sept. 20).

 

In remembrance of his life, we have picked a few of the many Henri Nouwen books as a sort of introductory reading guide.

7.   Turn My Mourning into Dancing

Nouwen suggests that by greeting life’s pains with something other than despair, we can find surprising joy in our suffering. He suggests that the way through suffering is not in denial, but rather in living fully in the midst of the trials life brings our way.
