Gandhi – An Intro Reading Guide for Christians

This week marked the 70th anniversary of Gandhi’s assassination. 

The Church has much to learn from Gandhi’s life and teachings. In remembrance, we offer this brief introductory reading guide for Christians.

 
We’ve ordered this list in the order that we think the books should be read, and we offer a brief explanation of why each book was included. We’ve included excerpts of most the books via Google Books.
 

1)   An Autobiography or The Story of My Experiments with Truth: A Critical Edition

We recommend starting with Gandhi’s story in his own words. This new critical edition from Yale UP (linked above), sheds additional insight on this classic book and its translation into English. The standard edition is embedded below.
