Thomas Merton is one of my favorite poets of the 2oth century.
His poetry reflects his monastic experience, simple in wording and form, and yet as one digs deeper and internalizes these poems, a deep, earthy wisdom is uncovered.
The Biography is probably my favorite of Merton’s poems, but as I have already shared that poem here, I offer three more poems that serve as a rich introduction to Merton’s poetry.
These poems can be found in:
The Collected Poems of Thomas Merton.
