Considering all of these are your opinion, this is one of the dumbest lists I ever had the displeasure of wasting my time on. But its my time to waste. Most of these covers aren’t that bad. As a graphic designer, I have seem some REALLY bad designs. You’re obviously a professional graphic artist as well but instead of suggesting ways to improve these covers, you mock them. How does that further God’s Kingdom, again? Since I don’t want to post on each page, let’s take the one above. I haven’t read the book, but I am familiar with Hallee Bridgeman, one of the top Christian authors in the country. My youngest daughter has read her work and was thrilled to hear about her latest series. Furthermore, Hallee’s novels have won numerous awards because real critics take the time to read the book. My suggestion to anyone coming to this page … don’t waste your time trolling through the rest of these covers. I doubt anyone will since I am the first and only comment, thus far.

I agree with Gene. Very turned off by you tearing these authors down.
This is not a dumb list. I strongly question your ability as a graphic designer if you think most of these aren’t that bad. Saying most of these aren’t that bad indicates you are not very well educated in design. These are all atrocious, there’s no question about it. Just because there are somehow worse designs in the world doesn’t make these any better. These are terrible, that’s all there is to it.
If you if don’t think these are bad, and are claiming to be a graphic designer… I might suggest some career re-evaluation…
Thanks for bringing attention to my eBook cover, “The Five-Day Crucifixion.” The cover was actually taken from the movie poster for the teaser (posted on YouTube) I produced based on certain scenes in the novel. The cover has the images of the main actors, and the backdrop was the creativity of the graphic artist. Thanks again for your highly valued opinion! 😉
Man, you got screwed if you paid a graphic artist to do that. It looks like he/she used Microsoft Paint to create your book cover…
I recognize the Photoshop filter that was used to make this photo into a “drawing.” Have a little more class, will you?

Why graphics designers cry.
Ouch… having worked briefly with a religious author, I can believe that some of these covers were hindered by the author’s vision, rather than a lack of skill on the cover artist’s part. Though that would be the case for any genre.
While these covers are all very, very, terrible, I find it amusing that the website on which this article is featured isn’t exactly the most well designed things itself…
Yes, these covers make the books look self-published, but if you are a Christian shame on you. We are supposed to build each other up, not knock each other down.
This makes me sad. I’m known for snark and attitude, even as a Christian, but this is just wrong. Yes, there are awful book covers. Yes, Christians should strive for excellence and are often behind the secular market. But, come on. There’s a right way and a wrong way to address this. I can’t imagine Jesus would handle it anything like this at all, and I can’t imagine He’s pleased by this.
Yet another way the Church is becoming like the world: Tear down and mock. Yes, I’ve passed books, movie posters, etc., and had an “Oh, wow, that’s … bad” moment, but the widespread publishing of sheer mockery doesn’t do anything constructive. “Say only what is helpful for building others up,” writes Paul.
I’m not advocating that everyone just gets a pat on the back with an insincere “Good job!” But there are ways to HELPFULLY say, “That cover needs work” that do not include “BWA HA HA HA HA HA what a freakin’ WRECK!”
Agreed. The comments underneath the covers were completely unnecessary.

I’ve never visited this site before but as a designer, a book lover, and a person of faith I hope there’s more to it than simply mocking others with a quick Google search and some petty comments.
Great collection–my only complaint is that they’re all on separate pages!
