Twelve Important Theology Books of 2019!!!

As the end of 2019 draws near, we highlight some of the most important theology books released this year…

Although some of these theology books will appear on our Advent calendar of 2019’s Best Books (and no, we won’t reveal here which ones will be on that list), we won’t say that these are the 12 BEST theology books, just that they are important ones that should be widely read and discussed…

We present these books in alphabetical order by the author/editor’s last name….

Important Theology Books 2019Participating in Christ: Explorations in Paul’s Theology and Spirituality

Michael Gorman

(Baker Academic)

World-renowned scholar Michael Gorman examines the important Pauline theme of participation in Christ and explores its contemporary significance for Christian life and ministry. One of the themes Gorman explores is what he calls “resurrectional cruciformity”–that participating in Christ is simultaneously dying and rising with him and that cross-shaped living, infused with the life of the resurrected Lord, is life giving. Throughout the book, Gorman demonstrates the centrality of participating in Christ for Paul’s theology and spirituality.
