As a leading source for book news and reviews for church leaders, The Englewood Review of Books is conducting a survey of clergy reading habits. Our work at the ERB is shaped by the conviction that reading is an essential practice for the flourishing of church communities, and this study has been designed in conjunction with Cultivating Communities, a program funded by the Lilly Endowment’s Thriving Congregations Initiative.
If you are clergy member, we invite you to participate in this study, and share your experience with reading personally and in the life of your congregation. The survey should take about 5-10 minutes to complete. Participants will be provided with a copy of the survey’s results after its completion. Also, after the completion of the survey we will draw the names of THREE participants at random, who will each win a $50 gift certificate to either Amazon.com or the independent online bookseller BookShop.org.
We are grateful for your participation in this survey, and all information you provide us will be handled securely. All survey results will be completely confidential. Although we request your email address, it will only be used for communication purposes, and will be removed before the survey data is analyzed.
Please share this survey with other clergy in your networks, including local pastors groups and your denominational leadership. Participation in this project will assist The Englewood Review of Books to enhance its service to pastors and celebrate their existing reading patterns.
