Over the last decade, most of the artwork that has appeared in our quarterly magazine has been done by our art / layout editor Brent Aldrich. I am deeply grateful for Brent’s work, and he will continue to do the design and layout for each issue, but we are looking to broaden the range of artists whose work is published in our pages.
We are looking for well-crafted visual art for the cover of our magazine, as well as for one interior color page in each issue that we reserve for artwork (this page is located opposite the table of contents) The Englewood Review of Books is a quarterly magazine that reviews a wide range of books for a diverse, socially-engaged audience of Christian readers. We welcome a broad range of submissions, but do have a special fondness for themes of nature, literature, and imaginative engagements with scripture / the Christian tradition.
We will compensate the artists for any piece that is selected for publication. You will retain the rights to the piece, but will grant us permission to publish it in a single issue, and in promo materials related to that issue.
SUBMISSIONS:
Visual artists: Open to all media, although bear in mind that winning entries will appear in print, so some media may not translate as well to print. Send up to three (3) images as JPGs, 300+ dpi, 7 inches in the largest dimension (save files as Yourlastname-1.jpg) to editor [at] englewoodreview [ d o t ] org, along with the attached entry details.
NOTE: Previously published works will be accepted under the condition that the artist owns the rights to the work and grants permission (should the work be selected as a winner) for us to republish it.
