This book has been getting quite a bit of praise recently — reviewed in the NY Times Book Review, on Amazon’s Best Books list for March, etc. It’s a pretty amazing story, but I’m always a bit skeptical of the value of these sorts of individual versus nature stories (She’s lucky her story didn’t end like that of Christopher McCandless in Jon Krakauer’s Into the Wild.)
