Justin Giboney helps us learn from the Christians in the Civil Rights movement, how they maintained a prophetic distance from political culture, a willingness to critique all sides, and a deep formation in scripture and Christian practice. Sara Billups reflects on the personal impact of anxiety, individually as well as corporately. She writes beautifully on the ways anxiety moves through us, through the church, and especially throughout our political culture. Both books are worth reading, possibly for very different reasons.
